	Recognised for the passion, range and sensitivity he brings to his extensive repertoire Christian Blackshaw's Queen Elizabeth Hall recitals over the past two seasons were critically acclaimed highlights. He made triumphant returns to the USA, the BBC Proms and White Nights Festival, St. Petersburg ; in Berlin's Philharmonie he performed the five Beethoven Piano Concertos and has appeared as soloist with Sir Simon Rattle, Valery Gergiev and Gianandrea Noseda.



	“The first recital in the South Bank’s International Piano Series proved to be something of a revelation … with Mozart’s great C minor Sonata K457, I’ve rarely heard that greatness so audibly conveyed as in Blackshaw’s compelling account … in Schumann’s Fantaisie op 17 the most passionate playing glowed from within … Schubert’s great B Flat Sonata D 960 has become the calling-card of many a pianist wishing to declare themselves a musicians’ musician and Blackshaw most certainly belongs to this category.”
